ANTHONY F. GANCHI
  
TEWKSBURY: Anthony F. “Tony” Ganchi, age 71, a resident of Tewksbury for 40 years, formally of Winchester, passed away at home in the care of his family and hospice on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.  

He was the beloved husband of Faye (Lafayette) Ganchi with whom he celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on March 3rd.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Anthony Ganchi and his wife Jessica, and Michael Ganchi; and two grandchildren, Spencer and Emma Ganchi. He also leaves one brother, Paul Ganchi and his wife Ann and his sister Kathleen Anderson and her late husband Malcolm, as well as their children and their families. Tony was the much-loved brother-in-law, Uncle and friend of his extended Lafayette family. He also leaves many cherished cousins, relatives, and dear friends. 

Born in Winchester on May 26, 1951, he was the son of the late Paul and Irma (Giammatteo) Ganchi.  Tony was raised in Winchester, where he attended school and graduated with the Winchester High Class of 1970.  
Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard for six years during the Vietnam War Era.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a telecommunications supervisor by Tufts University.  

Longtime Tewksbury Youth Sports Coach

For years Tony was an active member of the Tewksbury youth sports community, coaching and serving on their boards. During his tenure, his youth baseball, football and basketball teams won numerous town championships. His greatest coaching achievement came when his 13-year-old All-Star baseball team won the Massachusetts State title and was Eastern Regional Finalists, where his team was one game short of earning a trip to the World Series. He was also an active supporter of the Shawsheen RVTHS Wrestling Team and was inducted into their Hall of Fame. He remained close friends with many of the athletes he coached and supported over the years. 

In his spare time, Tony enjoyed attending drag races and car shows around the country with his friends and family. He was frequently at New England Dragway being a Crew Chief for his sons or helping with his car club events. He proudly showed his 1974 Corvette or his custom Chevrolet S-10 which both won numerous awards. 

Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 11th, from 1-5 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by a collation to be held at Long Meadow Golf Club, 165 Havilah St., Lowell, MA.
