Bruce Mullen

Bruce Mullen

Last night, I received a beautiful note from Bruce's son, Mac, who shared that the family let Bruce pass the evening of July 7, one month after celebrating his 68th birthday. Mac shared that in addition to horrible knee problems that required multiple surgeries, Bruce had been suffering with Parkinson's for six years. The evening of July 4th Bruce was found in cardiac arrest with no pulse. Despite attempts to revive him, he had lost too much oxygen to the brain and he was put on life support. The family came together and followed through with Bruce's request.

Mac also shared that Bruce's dad took the time to capture Bruce's successes and kept numerous photos and clippings from his years of baseball. He also found an article highlighting his dad's fashion - apparently Bruce took pride in being eccentric and "knew how to light up a room." Mac's favorite story came from one of Bruce's friends from a trip taken to Cabo for his 50th birthday. Bruce was called up onto the stage for a dance competition to the song TEQUILA. He went on to win the competition against men and women, some of which were half his age. Mac said Bruce just loved to be a fun loving guy.
