Margaret Mc Cabe (Palasek)

McCABE, Margaret Of Medford, passed away March 28, 2016, at age 63, after fighting strongly in a long struggle with ovarian cancer. Margaret graduated from Northeastern University, and earned a MS degree in Speech Language Pathology. Margaret worked for 26 years in speech therapy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Boston, where she specialized in work with brain-injured patients. Her most very favorite vacation places were Walt Disney World and the Grand Floridian Resort; she went there many, many times. Others were Goose Rocks Beach, Bermuda and Naples, FL. Margaret leaves behind all of us whom she loved dearly loved, including her husband Charles Albert McComas, her daughter and son-in-law Marianne Palasek Opperthauser and Daniel Opperthauser of New Providence, NJ, her son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Jessie Palasek of Winchester, grandchildren Madelyn and Julie Opperthauser and Grant Palasek, step-daughter Selena McComas of Webster and her husband John, step-daughter Anne Front of Los Angeles and her husband Jerome, step-son Albert McComas of New Orleans, step-grandchildren Vincent and Sophie Front, brother Robert McCabe of Lincoln and his wife Maureen, almost-brother John Lynch of Barnstable and his wife Nancy, brother Edward McCabe Jr. of Lawrence, brother-in-law David McComas of Memphis and his wife Donna, five nieces and a nephew – Meredith, Jeanne, and Nora Lynch, and Maia, Leah, and Riley McCabe, as well as many dear friends and former colleagues. Margaret has given to us so much love, friendship, joy, laughter (especially with her quirky and sometimes slightly irreverent humor), as well as strength, encouragement, support, mentoring and insight. We will miss and remember her forever. A Gathering in Remembrance will be held to celebrate Margaret's life - all of Margaret's family and friends are welcome to attend. For details, please contact her family or email MargaretsFriendsAndFamily@gmail.com. If anyone wishes to make a donation, in Margaret's name, please do so to Winchester Hospital.
