John A. “Jack” Pierce III, 66, of Winchester passed away on July 5 after a two and a half year battle with cancer. Jack was the beloved husband of Amy (Caron), and the loving and proud father of Lindsay Pierce and her husband Dr. Ryan Kilpatrick of Somerville and Caroline Pierce of San Francisco CA. He was predeceased by his parents, John A. Jr. and Anna L. Pierce. He is survived by his siblings Edward and his wife Zoe of Bedford, Kevin and his wife Sharon of Tewksbury, Carole Connolly and her husband Charlie of Winchester, Linda Tedesco and her husband Jay of Winchester, and Kimberley Mulholland and her husband Jim of Eldersburg MD. He was the nephew of Helen Dehm of Andover and Marcie and Roger Quandt of Hampton NH, and uncle to 21 nieces and nephews. Jack was born in Arlington, the oldest of six children, and moved to Winchester in 1963. He was a 1970 graduate of Winchester High School, and graduated from Syracuse University in 1974. Jack played both hockey and baseball during his youth and while at Syracuse he enjoyed playing club hockey. He later played for and coached a Winchester Men’s Softball team for many years. Jack worked for TRW Fasteners Division in Cambridge before joining the family business, the John A. Pierce Insurance Agency, in 1991. Jack and Amy were married at St. Joseph’s Church in Belmont in 1988, and lived in Medford before moving to Winchester where they raised their two daughters and became involved in the community. Jack coached his daughters in soccer and softball, and was active in the Sachem Youth Baseball Softball Association. He loved taking family trips to Disney World and spending time at the family beach house in Hampton NH.
